Again Mr. Ershad created a kind of opportunity in politics and economy by seizing power. He kept the power even when he gave the opposition a chance to move. Smugglers, black marketeers and land grabbers also took advantage of Mr. Ershad's tenure. Many big companies were also established at that time. It is almost impossible to be like those industrialists."

 I said, "Hujur, I can't agree with you."

 The big hujur asked, "Why?"

 I said, "You said, it is almost impossible to be like those industrialists by earning a lot of money from abroad. But Zahurul Islam from Bajitpur in Kishoreganj district has become one of the best industrialists in Bangladesh by earning money from abroad."

 The big hujur said, "You are right. But Zahurul Islam made money abroad before Bashundhara, Jamuna, PHP and Square Group. So he was able to use the foreign money in the socio-economic conditions of that time. They could not do it in the country, they have increased it abroad. Like our billionaire arms dealer. He could earn billions of dollars but could not buy so much land like Shah Alam of Bashundhara group or Babul of Jamuna group. He has built a mountain of property abroad with foreign money. In this situation, I decided after thinking a lot, even if I can't be the best industrialist, I can seize the power of the country. Because, many of those industrialists stay away from politics and party quarrels. "

 I said, "While Salman F. Rahman of Beximco Group is a successful business magnet in Bangladesh, he is directly involved in politics. At one point he even formed a political party."

 I said, "Even if you can't be like that yourself, you can make a huge profit by investing your money in their company."

 The big hujur said, "I thought so too. But it is not convenient for people like us. First of all, if we invest our money in different companies, it will not be a secret at all. We will not be able to invest in any company. Because, there are some industrialists in Bangladesh who think that even if someone steps outside their office, a big bomb has been detonated. So even if we invest, they will give all the information to law enforcement. Because, when those party come to power, they form alliances with them."

 Behind me and Badr Ali by then, Ekbal pathan, Dalim Khan and a few others have come and sat down.

So I went to Delhi after a year of cilla. I went to Karachi with a convoy of Pakistanis from Delhi to Karachi. Then I went to Afghanistan secretly from Karachi, Osama said me, "You have come, you have done well. Now do jihad." After that I did not get any connection on Osama's satellite phone. So I started to learn how to use weapons by staying with the Mujahideen from different countries who came to Afghanistan. Eventually Soviet Russia was forced to leave Afghanistan. But after the war the behavior of local Afghans changed. In a word, they were not paying any attention to us. One day an Afghan asked me, 'Hey man, who told you to come to Afghanistan from Bangladesh and do jihad?' I was never prepared to face such a question, so I mumbled, 'Osama bin Laden said that.' Then he said, 'Then why aren't you communicating with Osama?' I learned a few days later that Osama bin Laden had been used as a marketing product in the Afghan war. By using Osama as an example, semi-crazy people from other countries have been encouraged to take part in the Afghan war. But after the war, the local Afghans never agreed to give state power to Osama, who was expelled from Saudi Arabia. So it was indirectly explained to Osama. বড় হুজুরকে আমি জিজ্ঞেস করলাম,"এরশাদ সাহেবের আমলে আপনি কীসের জন্য দেশে এসেছিলেন?"

বড় হুজুর একটা দীর্ঘশ্বাস ফেলে বললেন,"বিদেশি টাকা দিয়ে বাংলাদেশে রাতারাতি অর্থাৎ অল্প সময়ে বিরাট ধনী ব্যক্তিতে পরিণত হওয়ার জন্য।"

এই কথা শোনে বদর আলি অত্যন্ত আগ্ৰহে বড় হুজুরকে জিজ্ঞেস করলো,"কীভাবে রাতারাতি বড় লোক হতে চেয়েছিলেন?"

বড় হুজুর বলতে লাগলেন,"বাংলাদেশের মানুষের দুইবার ভাগ্য বদলের সুযোগ হয়েছিলো।১৯৪৭ সালে একবার ,১৯৭১ সালে আরেক বার।১৯৪৭ সালে বৃটেন থেকে স্বাধীনতার পর অনেক ধনী মানুষ রাতারাতি নিঃস্ব হয়েছে,আবার অনেক নিঃস্ব মানুষ‌ ধনী হয়েছে।তেমনি হয়েছে ১৯৭১ সালের যুদ্ধের পরও। বাংলাদেশের স্কয়ার গ্ৰুপের স্যামসন এইচ চৌধুরী, বসুন্ধরা গ্ৰুপের শাহ আলম,যমুনা গ্ৰুপের নুরুল ইসলাম বাবুল, আকিজ গ্ৰুপের আকিজ মিয়া,চট্টগ্ৰামের পিএইচপি গ্ৰুপের সুফি মিজানুর রহমান,সিলেটের রাগিব আলি, থার্মেক্স গ্ৰুপের আব্দুল কাদির মোল্লা,সিটি গ্ৰুপের ফজলুর রহমান, ইউনাইটেড গ্ৰুপ,কেয়া গ্ৰুপ প্রভৃতির কারোর শুরু ১৯৭১ এর আগে হলেও উন্নতি হয়েছে ১৯৭১ সালের যুদ্ধের পরই।আবার কারোর প্রতিষ্ঠা হয়েছে ১৯৭১ সালের যুদ্ধের পর।ওই শিল্পপতিরা সেই সময়ের আর্থ-সামাজিক অবস্থার সুযোগে বাংলাদেশের ব্যবসা - বাণিজ্যে জিরো থেকে হিরো হয়েছেন।কেননা, সেই সময়ে টাকার অভাবে অনেকেই স্বস্তায় নিজের জমি - সম্পত্তি বিক্রি করতেন।আর সেগুলো কিনে নিতেন ওই শিল্পপতিরা।স্বাধীনতার আগে সুফি মিজান চাকরির পাশাপাশি টিউশানি করে সংসার চালাতেন। কিন্তু তিনিই বর্তমানে হাজার কোটি টাকার মালিক হয়েছেন সেই সময়ের আর্থ-সামাজিক অবস্থার সুযোগে। বর্তমানে এক শ' দরবেশ মিজান এক হলেও একজন সুফি মিজানের সমান হতে পারবেন না। কেননা,এখন ক্রেতার সংখ্যা দিন দিন বাড়লেও বিক্রেতা আগের মতো নাই।টাকা নিয়ে অনেক মানুষ রেডি আছে জমি - সম্পত্তি কেনার জন্য। কিন্তু বিক্রেতা তেমন নাই।কেননা,আগের মতো অভাব নাই।আবার এরশাদ সাহেব ক্ষমতা দখল করে রাজনীতি ও অর্থনীতিতে এক ধরণের সুযোগ তৈরি করেছিলেন।বিরোধীদেরকে আন্দোলন করার সুযোগ দিলেও নিজে ক্ষমতা ধরে রাখতেন। চোরাকারবারি, কালোবাজারি আর ভূমিদস্যুরাও এরশাদ সাহেবের আমলে ফায়দা লুটেছে।আবার অনেক বড় বড় কোম্পানিও সেই সময়ে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।এমন পরিস্থিতিতে দেশে এসে দেখলাম,আমাদের টাকা থাকলেও ওই শিল্পপতিদের মতো হওয়ার আর সুযোগ নাই।বিষয়টা আমাদের বিলিয়নিয়ার অস্ত্র ব্যবসায়ীও বুঝেছিলেন, বিদেশ থেকে অঢেল টাকা রোজগার করতে পারলেও ওই শিল্পপতিদের মতো হওয়া প্রায় অসম্ভব।"

আমি বললাম,"হুজুর, আপনার সঙ্গে আমি একমত হতে পারলাম না।"

বড় হুজুর জিজ্ঞেস করলেন,"কেন?"

আমি বললাম,"বিদেশ থেকে অঢেল টাকা রোজগার করে ওই শিল্পপতিদের মতো হওয়া প্রায় অসম্ভব।অথচ কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলার বাজিতপুরের জহুরুল ইসলাম বিদেশ থেকে টাকা রোজগার করে বাংলাদেশের শ্রেষ্ঠ শিল্পপতিদের একজন হয়েছেন।"

বড় হুজুর বললেন,"তোমার কথা ঠিক। কিন্তু জহুরুল ইসলাম বিদেশে টাকা কামিয়েছেন বসুন্ধরা,যমুনা, পিএইচপি আর স্কয়ার গ্ৰুপের আগেই।তাই তিনি বিদেশি টাকা সেই সময়ের আর্থ-সামাজিক অবস্থায় কাজে লাগাতে পেরেছিলেন।তাই তিনি বিদেশে সম্পদ না বাড়িয়ে দেশে বাড়িয়েছেন। কিন্তু যিনিরা দেশে পারেননি,তিনিরা বিদেশে বাড়িয়েছেন।যেমন আমাদের বিলিয়নিয়ার অস্ত্র ব্যবসায়ী।তিনি বিলিয়ন ডলার রোজগার করতে পারলেও বসুন্ধরা গ্ৰুপের শাহ আলম অথবা যমুনা গ্ৰুপের বাবুলের মতো এতো জমি কিনতে পারেন নি।কেননা, বাংলাদেশে প্রচুর জায়গা - জমি থাকলেও বর্তমানে বিক্রি করার তেমন লোক নাই।তাই তিনি বিদেশের টাকা দিয়ে বিদেশেই সম্পত্তির পাহাড় গড়েছেন।এই পরিস্থিতিতে আমি অনেক চিন্তা-ভাবনা করে সিদ্ধান্ত নিলাম, সেরা শিল্পপতি না হতে পারলেও দেশের ক্ষমতা হলেও দখল করতে পারবো।কেননা,ওই শিল্পপতিদের অনেকেই রাজনীতি ও দলীয় কোন্দল থেকে দূরে থাকেন।"

আমি বললাম,"অথচ বেক্সিমকো গ্ৰুপের সালমান এফ রহমান বাংলাদেশের একজন সফল বিজনেস ম্যাগনেট হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সরাসরি রাজনীতি করছেন।এমনকি এক সময় তিনি নিজেই রাজনৈতিক একটা দল প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন।"

 বড় হুজুর বললেন,"সালমান এফ রহমান এক্ষেত্রে ব্যতিক্রম লোক। রাজনীতি করার মতো সাহস তিনির থাকলেও অন্যান্য শিল্পপতিদের তেমন নাই।"

আমি বললাম,"নিজেরা ওই রকম হতে না পারলেও আপনাদের টাকা তো তিনিদের কোম্পানিতে বিনিয়োগ করে বিরাট মুনাফা অর্জন করতে পারেন।"

বড় হুজুর বললেন,"এটা আমিও ভেবেছিলাম। কিন্তু আমাদের মতো লোকের জন্য সুবিধাজনক না।প্রথমত আমাদের টাকা বিভিন্ন কোম্পানিতে বিনিয়োগ করলে, সেটা মোটেই গোপন থাকবে না।তাই সেই টাকার উৎস আর মুনাফার টাকার হিসাব দিতে দিতেই ক্ষমতা দখলের আমাদের স্বপ্ন ভঙ্গ হবে।আর চাইলেই যে কোন কোম্পানিতে আমরা বিনিয়োগ করতে পারবো না।কেননা,বাংলাদেশের এমনও শিল্পপতি আছেন,যিনির অফিসের বাইরে কেউ জোরে পা ফেললেও মনে করেন, বড় ধরণের বোমা ফাটানো হয়েছে।তাই আমরা বিনিয়োগ করলেও তিনিরা সকল তথ্য আইন বাহিনীকে দিয়ে দেবেন।কেননা, ওই শিল্পপতিরা যে দল যখন ক্ষমতায় যায়,তখন তাদের সঙ্গেই সখ্যতা গড়ে তোলেন।"

আমার আর বদর আলির পেছনে ততক্ষণে একবাল পাঠান,ডালিম খান ও আরো কয়েকজন এসে বসেছে।

বড় হুজুরকে একবাল পাঠান বলল,"ওরা সখ্যতা করার সুযোগ পায় কীভাবে?"

বড় হুজুর বলতে লাগলেন,"মূলত প্রতিটা দেশের কোম্পানিগুলো হচ্ছে রূপকথার সোনার ডিম পাড়া হাঁসের মতো।যাদেরকে লালন করলে সোনার ডিম পাওয়া যায়। কিন্তু খেয়ে ফেললে পাওয়া যায় না।তেমনি কোম্পানিগুলো থেকে ট্যাক্স পাওয়া যায়।তাই কোম্পানিগুলোর মালিকদেরকে সরকারের কর্তারা সখ্যতা গড়ার সুযোগ দেন। এবং নিজেরাও কোম্পানিগুলো থেকে প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষভাবে বিভিন্ন সুবিধা পেতে পারেন।"

ডালিম খান বলল,"কিন্তু এখন যদি দেশের সরকার ওই কোম্পানিগুলোকে হঠাৎ বড়লোক হওয়ার কারণে চার্জ করে,তখন কেমন হবে?"

বড় হুজুর বললেন,"কেউ দুর্নীতির মাধ্যমে বড়লোক হলে সরকার চার্জ করতে পারেন। কিন্তু কেউ যদি স্বস্তায় সম্পত্তি ক্রয় করে বড়লোক হয়,তবে তাকে চার্জ করার দরকার হয় না। তাই যেসব শিল্পপতিরা স্বস্তায় অন্যদের কাছ থেকে সম্পত্তি ক্রয় করে বিরাট ধনী হয়েছেন,তাদেরকে দেশের সরকার কিছুই বলেন না।"

আমি বললাম,"আচ্ছা, এই বিষয়টা বুঝার পর আপনি কী করলেন?"

বড় হুজুর বলতে লাগলেন,"কিন্তু দেশের ক্ষমতা দখল করাও তখন ততো সহজ ছিলো না। বঙ্গবন্ধুর মৃত্যুর পর শেখ হাসিনা ১৯৮১ সালে দেশে প্রত্যাবর্তন করলেন, প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়ার মৃত্যুর পর খালেদা জিয়াও রাজনীতিতে জড়ালেন।ওই দুজনের নেতৃত্বে আওয়ামী লীগ ও বিএনপি আবার সক্রিয় হলো। অর্থাৎ আমাদের সামনে তখন আওয়ামী লীগ, বিএনপি ও ক্ষমতায় বসা এরশাদ সাহেবের জাতীয় পার্টি।আমরা চাইলেই ওই তিন দলের সঙ্গে দ্বন্দ্বে জড়াতে পারিনা।কেননা,ওই তিন দলের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের অনেক মানুষের ক্ষমতা, অস্তিত্ব এমনকি জীবিকাও নির্ভর করে।তাই হঠাৎ করে যদি প্রকাশ্যে আমরা ক্ষমতা দখলের জন্য সক্রিয় হই, তাহলে ওই তিন দলের শত্রুতে পরিণত হবো।তাই আমি জিহাদি কৌশল অবলম্বন করেছি।"

আমি বললাম,"কিন্তু উসামা বিন লাদেনের সঙ্গে জঙ্গিবাদে কীভাবে জড়ালেন?"  

বড় হুজুর বলতে লাগলেন,"ওই পরিস্থিতি বুঝার পর আমার বিদেশি টাকা গোপন করে তাবলিগের মুরুব্বি হিসেবে নিজেকে প্রকাশিত করলাম।"

আমি বললাম,"আপনি তো চাইলে নিজেকে একজন পির হিসেবে প্রকাশিত করতে পারতেন।"

বড় হুজুর বলতে লাগলেন,"হ্যাঁ করতে পারতাম। কিন্তু সেটা নিরাপদ না।কেননা, অনেক পির আছেন,যিনিদের ভূমিকা তথাকথিত গডফাদারদের মতো।তিনিরা নিজেদের শিষ্যদের দুর্নীতি আর অপরাধের মাধ্যমে অর্জিত টাকা থেকে হাদিয়া গ্ৰহণ করেন।ফলে আইন বাহিনীর নজরদারিতে অন্তর্ভুক্ত হন। কিন্তু তাবলিগের মুরুব্বিদের মধ্যে এখনও ওই রকম তৎপরতা পরিলক্ষিত হয়নি।তাই পির হওয়ার চেয়ে তাবলিগের মুরুব্বি হওয়া নিরাপদ। তাছাড়া আমার এলাকার সকলেই জানেন,আমি মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে তাবলিগ করে বড় মুরুব্বি হয়ে এসেছি।তাই তাবলিগের মুরুব্বি হয়েই আমার পরিকল্পনা মতো চলছিলাম।এরই মধ্যে শুরু হয় আফগানিস্তানের চরম যুদ্ধ।সেই যুদ্ধে উসামা বিন লাদেনও যুক্ত হলো।যদিও আমি দেশে চলে এসেছিলাম, কিন্তু স্যাটেলাইট ফোনে উসামার সঙ্গে আমার যোগাযোগ ঠিকই ছিলো।আফগান যুদ্ধের শেষের দিকে আমাকে উসামা ফোন করে বলল,'বন্ধু দুলাল, কমিউনিস্ট সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নের বিরুদ্ধে আমরা মুজাহিদরা জয়ী হওয়ার পথে।তুমি যত দ্রুত পারো আফগানিস্তানে চলে আসো।এখন এলে যে সুযোগ পাবে,পরে এলে কিন্তু সেই সুযোগ পাবে না।' কিন্তু বললেই তো আর আফগানিস্তানে গিয়ে জিহাদ করা ততো সহজ না।তাই এক বছরের চিল্লার কথা বলে চলে গেলাম দিল্লিতে।দিল্লি থেকে পাকিস্তানের এক কাফেলার সঙ্গে চলে গেলাম করাচি।এরপর করাচি থেকে চোরাপথে চলে গেলাম আফগানিস্তানে।স্যাটেলাইট ফোনে উসামার সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করলে সে শুধু বলল,'এসেছো, ভালো করেছো।এবার জিহাদ করো।' এরপর উসামার স্যাটেলাইট ফোনে আর কোন সংযোগ পেলাম না।তাই আফগানিস্তানে আগত বিভিন্ন দেশের মুজাহিদদের সঙ্গে অবস্থান করে অস্ত্র চালনা শিখতে লাগলাম।অবশেষে সোভিয়েত রাশিয়া বাধ্য হলো আফগানিস্তান ত্যাগ করতে। কিন্তু যুদ্ধের পর স্থানীয় আফগানদের আচরণ বদলে গেলো।আমাদেরকে ওরা দেখেও দেখে না।এক কথায় বললে,ওরা আমাদেরকে কোন পাত্তাই দিচ্ছিল না।একদিন তো এক আফগান আমাকে জিজ্ঞেস করেই ফেলল,'এই মিয়া,তোমাকে বাংলাদেশ থেকে আফগানিস্তানে এসে জিহাদ করতে কে বলেছে?' আমি কখনই এমন প্রশ্নের মুখোমুখি হওয়ার জন্য প্রস্তুত ছিলাম না। তাই আমতা আমতা করে বললাম,'উসামা বিন লাদেন বলেছে।' তখন সে বলল,'তাহলে উসামার সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করছো না কেন?'এর কয়েক দিন পর জানতে পারলাম,মূলত উসামা বিন লাদেনকে আফগান যুদ্ধে মার্কেটিংয়ের প্রডাক্ট হিসেবে ইউজ করা হয়েছে।উসামাকে দৃষ্টান্ত হিসেবে উপস্থাপন করে অন্যান্য দেশের আধা পাগলদেরকে আফগান যুদ্ধে অংশ গ্ৰহণ করাতে উদ্বুদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। কিন্তু যুদ্ধের পর সৌদি আরব থেকে বিতাড়িত উসামাকে কখনই স্থানীয় আফগানরা রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতা দিতে সম্মত না।তাই সেটা উসামাকে পরোক্ষভাবে বুঝিয়ে দেয়া হলো।এটা বুঝার পর উসামার মাথায় যেন আকাশ ভেঙে পড়লো।এরই মধ্যে উসামা আগের স্যাটেলাইট ফোন দিয়ে আমার সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করলো।আমাকে সে বলল,'ভাই দুলাল,তুমি এখন কোথায়?' আমি তখন আমার অবস্থানের কথা বললাম।সেটা শোনে আমাকে উসামা ওর গোপন আস্তানার ঠিকানা দিয়ে বলল,'তুমি অবিলম্বে আমার সঙ্গে এসে সাক্ষাৎ করো।'"(চলবে http://ow.ly/t4pm103qhQ0 )©️All Right Reserved by Junayed Ashrafur Rahman
