কুতুবদ্দি একটু আনমনাভাবে বলল, " সেই স্পেশাল খাবারটা হচ্ছে ষান্ডা। "

জামাল :- ষান্ডা কী ?

কুতুবদ্দি :- মরুভূমির এক ধরনের গিরগিটি।

কুতুবদ্দি :- ষান্ডা খাইলে কী হয় ?

কুতুবদ্দি :- ষান্ডা খাইলে শরীরের শক্তি বাড়ে। বলা হয় যে, ষান্ডা খাইলে বুড়া মানুষও যুবকের মত শক্তিশালী হয়। কথিত আছে, সৌদি আরবের বাদশাহ্ ফয়সালের বাবা আব্দুল আজিজ ইবনে সৌদ প্রতিদিন সকালে একটা করে ষান্ডা ফ্রাই খেতেন। এই কারণেই তিনি তুরস্কের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করে সৌদি আরব প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে পেরেছিলেন। এই ষান্ডা খেয়েই বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে আমরা রাজাকার ও পাক বাহিনী যুদ্ধ করব।

জামাল :- আপনারা কি সৌদি আরব থেকে ষান্ডা এনে খাবেন ? 

কুতুবদ্দি :- না, তবে পাকিস্তানের মরুভূমিতেও ষান্ডা আছে। সেই স্থান থেকে ষান্ডা এনে আমাদেরকে খাওয়ানো হবে।

এই কথা বলার পর, দেখলাম কুতুবদ্দির চোখের কোণে পানি চিক চিক করছে। তাই আমি জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, " কী ব্যাপার, আপনার চোখে পানি কেন ? "

কুতুবদ্দি তখন নাক দিয়ে জোরে অল্প বাতাস টেনে বলল, " কয়েকদিন আগে গিয়েছিলাম পাক বাহিনীর ক্যাম্পে রাজাকারের দলে নাম লেখাতে। তখন দেখলাম পাক বাহিনীর এক মেজর ষান্ডা ফ্রাই খাচ্ছে। মুচ মুচে করে ভাজা ষান্ডা ফ্রাইটা টমেটো সস দিয়ে আমাকে দেখিয়ে দেখিয়ে খেয়েছিল, কিন্তু আমাকে একটু সাধেও নি। ষান্ডা ফ্রাইটা খেয়ে প্লেটে লেগে থাকা তেলটাও একেবারে চেটেপুটে খেয়েছিল। খাওয়ার পর আমাকে মেজর বলেছিল, " ষান্ডা খাবি ? " আমি বলেছিলাম, " খাওয়ার সময় সাধলেননা, আর এখন খেয়ে শেষ করে সাধছেন। " এই কথা শুনে আমাকে মেজর ধমক দিয়ে বলেছিল, " বেয়াদব কোথাকার, সিনিয়রের খাবারে ভাগ বসাতে চাস ?" এই কথা বলে অন্যদের দিকে তাকিয়ে বলেছিল, " এই বেয়াদবকে কারা রাজাকারের দলে ভর্তি করিয়েছে ? " তখন কামারুজ্জামান ভাই তাড়াতাড়ি এসে বলেছিল, " স্যার, কিছু মনে করবেননা। কুতুবদ্দি এখনও অফিসিয়াল ব্যাপার বুঝতে পারেনি। আস্তে আস্তে বুঝে নেবে। "

জামাল :- এটা অফিসিয়াল কোন ব্যাপারনা। যে কেউ নিজের খরচায় খাইতে পারে। কিন্তু অফিসের জুনিয়রদেরকে দেখিয়ে দেখিয়ে খাওয়া অবশ্যই অনৈতিক। কেননা অফিসে চাইলেই ত আর বাইরের খাবার এনে খাওয়া সম্ভব হয়না। মূলত কিছু ছোটলোক ফকিরনির পুত বড় অফিসার হয়ে এমনটা করে। অফিসে খাইতে মন চায় ত একা একা খা, অন্যদেরকে দেখিয়ে খেয়ে কষ্ট দিস কেন ? আচ্ছা এরপর কী হল ? "

কুতুবদ্দি :- তখন আমি কামারুজ্জামান ভাইয়ের সঙ্গে অন্য রাজাকারদের কাছে গেলাম। কিছুক্ষণ পর আমাকে পাক বাহিনীর কর্নেল ডেকে নিয়ে দশ কেজি ঘি দিলো। আরো বলল, পাকিস্তান থেকে ষান্ডা এলে ফ্রাই করে খাওয়ানো হবে।

সাজেদ :- আচ্ছা, ষান্ডা খাওয়া কি ইসলামি আইনে বৈধ ? আরবের বিশ্বজয়ী মুসলমানরা কি ষান্ডা খেতেন।

কুতুবদ্দি :- ইসলামি আইনে ষান্ডা খাওয়া বৈধ। তবে প্রাথমিক যুগের মুসলমানরা ষান্ডা খেতেন কি না ? সেটা ইতিহাসে তেমন উল্লেখ নাই।

জামাল :- তাহলে ষান্ডা খাওয়া বৈধ হল কীভাবে ?

কুতুবদ্দি :- শাফেয়ি সম্প্রদায়ে গুইসাপ খাওয়া বৈধ। তাই ঐ বৈধতার উপর ভিত্তি করে ষান্ডা খায়াও বৈধ করা হয়েছে। আর সৌদি আরবের লোকেরা মরুভূমির ঘাস ফড়িং টিড্ডিও খায়।

এই সকল কথা শোনে কাজল হুঙ্কার দিয়ে বলল, " আপনারা রাজাকাররা আর পাক বাহিনী যদি ষান্ডা খেয়ে যুদ্ধ করেন, তাহলে চ্যাপা ভর্তা খেয়ে আমরা যুদ্ধ করব। চ্যাপা ভর্তা খেয়ে ষান্ডা খাওয়া পাক বাহিনীকে ডাণ্ডা মেরে একেবারে ঠাণ্ডা করে দিব। "
